Richmond is the Fort Bend County seat, with an old town on the Brazos River and newer neighborhoods spreading out around it. The trees match: big pecans and live oaks on older lots, river-bottom hardwoods near the water, and young builder-planted oaks in the new subdivisions.
Tree King is based in Pattison, west of Houston, and works across Fort Bend County. We trim, remove and clean up after storms, with published prices and the price given on site before we start.

A straight answer on a sick or leaning tree.
Richmond removals are often old pecans that have started dropping big limbs, trees undermined by wet ground near the river, and trees damaged in storms. Near a house we take them down in pieces; very large trees close to buildings can come out with a crane so nothing lands on the roof. The wood and brush are hauled off and the stump ground below grade on request.
Old pecans and live oaks here need deadwood out and weight taken off long limbs over roofs and streets. Young oaks in the new subdivisions need structural pruning: one strong leader, the competing tops cut back, the lowest limbs lifted over time. We never top a tree and never use climbing spikes on a tree that is staying.
The Brazos set a record crest at Richmond in June 2016, and Fort Bend County was flooded again by Harvey in 2017. Hurricane Beryl in July 2024 knocked down trees and power across the Houston area. Waterlogged ground is when big trees fall, so after heavy rain watch for new leans or cracked soil at the base. We clear fallen trees, cut hanging limbs out of crowns and haul it all away. Big clearing jobs, brush and lots: see land clearing around Houston and Pattison.
Pecans grow fast and drop big limbs, often in summer, so dead wood over the house is worth removing early. Live oaks are the long-lived tree for Richmond yards; we prune them outside oak wilt season (no saws in live oaks February through June) and paint every cut. Near the river, flooding and erosion can loosen roots, so a tree that starts to lean after high water should be looked at quickly. See the best time to trim oak trees in Texas.

Pecans drop dead and heavy limbs more than most trees. Removing deadwood and reducing long limbs over the house makes it much safer; we can look at it and tell you straight.
