Stump Grinding & Removal in Fulshear & Katy, TX

Old stumps are trip hazards, mower killers and termite magnets. We grind them below ground so you can plant, pave or mow right over.

Stump grinding is the fastest, cleanest way to get rid of a stump. We grind the stump and major surface roots below ground level with a stump grinder, then fill the hole with the grindings or clean it up so you’re ready for sod, seed or a new tree.

One stump or a whole yard full — we handle leftovers from our own removals and from trees someone else took down.

What we do

Grinding below grade

Ground down below the surface so grass and mowers go right over.

Surface roots

Large surface roots ground out along with the stump when needed.

Tight access

Compact equipment for backyards and gated yards.

Chip cleanup

Grindings raked back into the hole or hauled away — your choice.

Stump grinding vs. full stump removal

Grinding takes the visible stump and the top of the root system down below ground and leaves the rest of the roots to rot away naturally. It’s the right choice for almost every yard.

Full stump removal digs out the entire root ball. It’s more work and more disturbance, but it’s sometimes needed where you’re building, pouring a slab or planting a new tree in the exact same spot. We’ll recommend the one that fits your plans.

Frequently asked questions

Will the stump grow back?

Most trees won’t resprout once the stump is ground. A few species (like Chinese tallow and some elms) can send up sprouts from the roots; we’ll tell you if yours is one of them.

How long does it take?

Most residential stumps take well under an hour to grind.

Do you mark utility lines?

Yes — before any ground work we make sure underground utilities are located. Let us know about sprinkler lines and invisible dog fences too.
