Katy · Firethorne · Cane Island · Cinco Ranch
Trimming, removal and tree care for Katy homes and businesses — from a local crew based just up the road.
Katy’s neighborhoods range from Old Katy’s big, established trees to master-planned communities like Cinco Ranch where oaks and elms planted 20–30 years ago are now large enough to need real care.
Tree King serves Katy from our base in nearby Pattison, with trimming, removals, stump grinding and tree health work.

Roof clearance, crown thinning and HOA-friendly pruning.
Dead, leaning and unwanted trees removed safely.
Stumps ground below grade.
Yellowing, dieback and struggling trees.
Fallen trees and limbs after storms.
HOAs, businesses and common areas.
Neighborhood oaks planted close to houses and sidewalks are now hitting roofs and lifting concrete. Heavy clay soil holds water in wet years and cracks in droughts, stressing roots both ways. And iron chlorosis — yellow leaves with green veins — is common in our alkaline soil. Most of these can be managed with the right pruning and soil care.
From our base in Pattison we are in Katy most weeks. Each one has its own page with the tree work we do there.

Live oaks are what we know best, and Katy has both kinds. The young ones that builders plant in front yards usually grow the same faults: competing tops, low crowded limbs, and stakes and straps left on too long. A little structural pruning in the first few years keeps them strong and clear of the driveway and sidewalk, and saves the big corrective cuts later.
The big established oaks need a different hand: deadwood out, weight taken off long limbs over the roof, and clearance for the driveway, all without stripping the canopy. Tree King is run by Lucas, an ISA Certified Arborist and 3rd-generation tree man with more than 30 years in the trade.
Timing matters with oaks in Texas. Oak wilt spreads most in spring, so we avoid routine oak pruning from February through June when we can, and we paint every fresh oak cut. Read more in the best time to trim oak trees in Texas.

Dead, broken or hanging limbs over a house or driveway should come down whenever they are found.
