Thirty years of canopy
Cinco Ranch’s oaks went in decades ago and now arch over roofs and streets. Tree King keeps them healthy, safe and clear of the house.
Cinco Ranch is the community that started Katy’s growth. Ground was broken in 1991, and it now covers more than 8,000 acres. Trees planted in the first sections have had over thirty years to grow.
That makes the work here different from the newer neighborhoods to the west. These are full-size trees close to houses, fences and pools, and they call for an experienced climber and careful rigging. Tree King has more than 30 years in the trade and is based nearby in Pattison.

Crown cleaning, thinning and roof clearance.
Dead and hazardous trees removed safely, crane when needed.
Oak wilt, hypoxylon, chlorosis and root stress.
Deep root feeding and trunk injection.
Clean up after removals.
Fallen trees and hangers after severe weather.
Roof and street clearance. Mature live oaks spread wide and low. We lift the canopy off roofs, driveways and streets with proper cuts back to a side branch, so the tree keeps its shape.
Deadwood and weight reduction. Large dead limbs are the ones that come down in a storm. We remove them and shorten overextended limbs ahead of hurricane season.
Trees that have outgrown the spot. A tree planted a few feet from the slab thirty years ago may now be lifting a walk or crowding the house. Sometimes pruning solves it and sometimes removal is the honest answer. We will tell you which.
Decline and disease. Thinning crowns, bark falling off and mushrooms at the base are signs worth having looked at. Older oaks under drought stress are prone to hypoxylon canker, and catching stress early is the only real defense.
We work throughout Cinco Ranch, from the oldest sections to Cinco Ranch Southwest and Northwest, and across the rest of Katy, including Firethorne, Cane Island and Tamarron.
Tight backyards and pool decks are normal here. We lower limbs by rope instead of dropping them, protect the lawn and hardscape, and haul everything away.
Yes. We work in Katy every week and are based a short drive west in Pattison.
Every three to five years is typical for a healthy mature live oak, mainly for deadwood and clearance. A tree should not need heavy thinning every year.
Yes. We take them down in sections with ropes, and bring a crane when a tree is too large or too unsound to climb.
