Cypress grew fast along US 290 and Cypress Creek, and many of its neighborhoods were built around the trees that were already there: tall loblolly pines, water oaks and live oaks that now stand over roofs, fences and back-yard pools.
Tree King is based in Pattison, in Waller County west of Houston, and Cypress is in our service area. We trim, remove and clean up after storms here, and we give you the price on site before any work starts.

Big oaks thinned, raised and cleared of deadwood.
Pecans and shade trees kept healthy and clear.
Dead, leaning and storm-damaged trees.
Big trees too close to the house to drop.
Clear stumps from yards and pastures.
A straight answer on a sick or leaning tree.
Most removals in Cypress are pines and water oaks that have grown too big for the lot or started to fail: a lean toward the house after a wet spring, a split trunk, bark falling off a dead pine. Close to a roof, we take the tree down in pieces with ropes, and for the biggest ones we bring in crane-assisted removal so nothing drops on the house. The brush is hauled off and the stump can be ground the same visit.
Trimming here is mostly clearance and weight: limbs off roofs and gutters, branches lifted over driveways and fences, deadwood out of the crowns of older oaks. We cut back to a branch or the trunk, never top a tree, and never use climbing spikes on a tree that is staying.
Cypress Creek flooded hard in Hurricane Harvey in 2017, when about 29 inches of rain fell on its watershed, and Hurricane Beryl in July 2024 brought down trees and power lines across northwest Harris County. Soaked ground lets big trees tip; wind does the rest. After a storm we clear trees off roofs, fences and driveways, cut hangers out of crowns, and haul it away. Loblolly pines are common in older Cypress neighborhoods. They are fast and tall, and a pine killed by drought or beetles dries out quickly and becomes brittle, so dead pines near the house should come down early, not after the next storm. Water oaks often decay from the inside before it shows. A sound live oak, kept trimmed, is the tree you want over the house. Live oaks are pruned outside oak wilt season (we keep saws out of them February through June) and every cut is painted. See the best time to trim oak trees in Texas.
Yes. Cypress is in our service area, from our base in Pattison. Call 361-850-3643 or send the form and we come out for an on-site estimate.
Standard tree work, including most removals, trimming and stump grinding, is $300 right now with the 40% Iran War Discount (regular $500). Very large trees that need a crane are $6,000 (regular $10,000). You get the exact price on site before we start.
Usually yes, and sooner is better. Dead pines dry out and break easily in wind. We take them down in pieces when they are close to the house.
Yes: trees off roofs, fences and driveways, broken limbs cut out of crowns, and haul-off. For a tree on a house, call any time.
