Most land around Pattison, Waller and northwest Houston comes with a thicket somewhere: yaupon and tallow along the fence, vines climbing the young trees, a dead tree or two, brush where the pasture used to be. Clearing it by hand and saw, carefully, is our kind of work.

We are tree people first, so we clear like it: the trees worth keeping get marked before the saws start, and the job is priced on site before any work begins.

What we clear

Chinese tallow (an invasive tree in Texas), yaupon thickets, hackberry and other volunteer trees, greenbrier and vines, dead and leaning trees, old storm debris, and the brush that swallows a fence line. We cut it, haul it off or leave it chipped or stacked on site, and grind the stumps if you want the ground mowable.

Lot clearing that saves the good young oaks

Clearing a lot for a house, a barn or a view usually means losing every tree on it. It does not have to. Before we start we walk the lot with you and mark the young live oaks, post oaks and other trees worth keeping. We clear around them by hand, keep machines and brush piles off their roots, and can give the keepers their first structural pruning so they grow one strong trunk and a wide crown. A young oak saved today is the shade tree over your house in twenty years. More on that: young live oak pruning.

Big acreage and heavy equipment: our partner crew

Some jobs need heavy machines: acres of woods, a whole pasture gone to brush, a pad for a building. Those go to our partner crew, a long-time local tree company we trust. You still call us, we look at the land with you, and we tell you plainly which part we do and which part they do, before anything starts. No surprises halfway through.

How it works

Frequently asked questions

How much does land clearing cost?

It depends on how thick the brush is, how big the area is and whether the brush is hauled off or left on site, so we price it on site, before any work starts. Tree removals and stump grinding inside the job follow our published prices: standard tree work is $300 right now with the 40% Iran War Discount.

Do you clear whole acreage?

We clear brush, underbrush, fence lines, small trees and house lots ourselves. When a job needs heavy equipment or covers a lot of acreage, it goes to our partner crew, and we tell you that at the estimate, not halfway through.

Can you clear a lot and keep the good trees?

Yes, that is what we like best. We walk the lot with you first, mark the young live oaks and other trees worth keeping, clear around them without tearing up their roots, and can prune the keepers so they grow a strong crown.

Do you remove Chinese tallow and yaupon?

Yes. Tallow is an invasive tree in Texas and comes back from the stump and roots, so we grind the stumps, and you should expect to pull sprouts for a season. Yaupon thickets and vines along fence lines are cut back to the ground.

What happens to the brush?

We haul it off, or leave it chipped or stacked on site if you want it. You pick at the estimate.

Where do you clear land?

West and northwest of Houston: Pattison, Waller, Hockley, Brookshire, Cypress, Katy, Fulshear, Simonton, Weston Lakes, Richmond, East Bernard and nearby. Call 361-850-3643 or send the form.
