Big trees, established neighborhoods and tight lots — West Houston is where we do most of our work.

30+ years experienceLocally based in Pattison, TXUpfront on-site estimates

West Houston’s older neighborhoods have some of the most beautiful mature trees in the city — and some of the most challenging jobs: big oaks and pines over houses, backyards with no access, and pools, fences and landscaping everywhere.

Tree King works in Memorial, the Energy Corridor, Katy, Weston Lakes and nearby neighborhoods every week. We know the HOA expectations, the tight lots and the trees.

Protecting West Houston's big trees

Many west-side trees are 50+ years old and were here before the houses. Construction, pools, driveways and irrigation changes all stress their roots. Regular pruning, the right fertilization and early diagnosis keep them healthy far longer — and cost much less than removing a dead oak over your home.

How a big tree comes out of a tight backyard

Many West Houston removals cannot be done by felling the tree. There is a house on one side, a pool on the other and a fence behind. There are two ways to do it safely. A climber can take the tree down in pieces and lower each one on ropes. Or a crane can set up in the street or driveway, and each section is cut and lifted over the house to the truck, without touching the roof, the fence or the landscaping. See crane tree removal.

For the trees you are keeping, the work is pruning: deadwood out, weight taken off long limbs over the roof, and clearance for the driveway and street. Oaks have a season. Oak wilt spreads most in spring, so we avoid routine oak pruning from February through June and paint every cut. See the best time to trim oak trees in Texas and tree service in Memorial.
